Paul Wright
Over the course of his professional soccer career, Paul has played both indoor and outdoor soccer, and he’s helped his teams earn 4 Championship titles. Paul was selected to 9 All Star teams and played in 7 championship finals. He played for the Kansas City Wizards of Major League Soccer from 1996 - 1999. In addition to playing soccer, Paul got his Personal Trainer Certification and assisted in the training and conditioning program for the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL. He was the Speed and Agility/ Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Baltimore Blast and the San Diego Sockers professional indoor soccer teams. Upon returning to San Diego in 2002, Paul established Speed To Burn, a speed and agility training company. Through his unique training programs, he has helped athletes in all sports improve their performance.
Mariano Bollella
Mariano Bollella, a native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, has 17 years of experience as a professional soccer player. He began his career playing for Argentinos juniors, and earned his first professional contract at 17 years old with Almagro. Mariano’s career includes indoor and outdoor experience gained in three different countries: Argentina, Mexico and the United States. He earned a WISL championship in 2000 with the Monterrey La Raza, and was named the WISL’s Most Valuable Player in 2000. In 2004 with the San Diego Sockers, Mariano led the team in goals and power play goals, and came in second in points. In addition to his playing experience, he has five years of coaching experience.
Paul Dougherty
Paul’s professional soccer career spanned 19 years, and included time in England and the U.S. His career began in the Old English 1st Division (now Premier League) with the Wolverhampton Wanderers. After coming to the U.S., Paul played for a number of indoor and outdoor professional teams. He was recognized as the CISL MVP in 1997, and was the top goal scorer in the league that same year. From 1997 – 2000, Paul played for the NY/NJ Metrostars and the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. He holds USSF “A” and “B” licenses and his coaching accomplishments are numerous. He is an assistant coach for the UCSD men’s soccer team and also a youth competitive coach. In addition to winning many youth tournaments and league championships, his Boys U15 team was the US Club Soccer National Champion in 2004.
Danny Pena
Danny’s professional soccer career began at the age of 19. Over 13 years, he played in various indoor and outdoor professional leagues. He was named captain of several teams and selected to the All Star team a number of times. He was the number 1 draft pick for the Los Angeles Galaxy of Major League Soccer in 1996, and was their starting defensive midfielder for several years. Danny is currently serving as the Boys’ Director of Coaching (U9-U17) for the Force Soccer Club in the Los Angeles area. He holds a National “E” license, and coaches two nationally ranked teams.
Riley Swift
Riley played professional indoor soccer for the San Diego Sockers. He also played in Hungary with Vasas for one season. Riley has coached club soccer teams and is a Speed To Burn instructor.
Allie Sullivan
Allie played professional soccer for the San Diego Spirit and the Boston Breakers of the WUSA. She played as a forward and midfielder and was know for her speed. She ran track and played soccer at UC Berkeley, where she was named to the All-Pac 10 Conference team, and the National Coaches Association of America Umbro All-West Team. Allie has experience coaching youth competitive soccer teams and is also a Speed To Burn instructor.
